About My Home

We are located in Laguna Hills, near Valencia Elementary School.  Our home is 2200 sq. ft. with our entire first floor dedicated to creating a second home for our little guests.  We have a large back yard and side yard, including a cedar swing set with a playhouse and a slide.

Inside
During hours of care our first floor is transformed into your child's home-away-from-home.  Our living room is used for general play and for circle time.  Our family room adjoins the living room and is used for general play, cozy reading time, and for the very limited amount of video watching that is occasionally part of our routine.  Next to the family room is an extra bedroom that has been dedicated to nap time.  It's also used for additional play space and developmental activities - when nobody is sleeping, of course!  Our dining room is used for eating and for arts and crafts time.

Outside
Our backyard is ideal for play.  Children will enjoy riding age-appropriate scooters and trikes on the large concrete play area, while older children have the option to shoot some hoops.  Our cedar play structure sits on a large section of artificial turf that has playground safety pads installed underneath in key fall areas, like under the swings and ladder.  Our side yard is perfect for outdoor meals or arts and crafts.  A small fence between the two yards keeps all the kids in one place at a time so no child is out of sight during outdoor time.

Safety
Safety is my top priority and I take it very seriously.  Here are some of the mindful steps I have taken to reduce the risk of injury as much as possible:
  • All electrical outlets, including those with something plugged in, are covered with childproof devices
  • All kitchen cabinets with anything remotely dangerous are fitted with childproof locks that require a magnet key to open
  • All bookshelves and any other furniture at risk of tipping are firmly secured to the walls
  • Small toys and other items that pose a choking hazard are not allowed
  • Patio steps are marked clearly with red paint to prevent trips and falls
  • Playground surface safety pads are installed under the artificial turf beneath our swings and around the ladder on the playhouse
